Re: "Incorrect client version" - macroquest error

I get this error when i start EQ while MQ is running, and MQ doesnt work....can anyone explain what this means and how to fix it? if you had taken the time to actually read and utilize these forums as many, many people expound upon here, you might have done a search for "incorrect client versi...

this is one of the many "features" of the new graphics engine. one of the ways they minimize both net and video lag is to transfer and process less info on toons that are behind you or quite distant from you. this is why when you turn around quickly at a raid you see many people falling br...

sourceforge

for me sourceforge is pretty slow too. 10 seconds or longer is common for pages to load. i have broadband (well kinda, 144kbps IDSL) and sf.net has been slow for a long, long time. i seem to remember some big datacenter change, like a new server setup or a move or maybe va's relative collapse about ...

My thinking was say I make a Rogue Evade custombind.. /custombind add Evade /custombind set Evade /multiline ;blah blah then instead of /bind Evade (key) maybe be able to go /Evade and it fires as if bound to key given all that, just do /alias /evade /keypress evade and you'll have what you are loo...

a simple solution

when the mq2auth thing was implemented, first thing i did was move the mq2 code onto a shared drive where all my machines that use mq have access to it. then on each machine i ran that mq2auth.exe (yes the one on the shared drive) and it in turn updated mq2auth0.h (yes originally it was mq2auth1.h a...

Re: Binds on up.

i have a custombind to help me drag a corpse that i setup like this: /custombind add action_corpse_drag /custombind set action_corpse_drag-down /corpse /custombind set action_corpse_drag-up /corpse /bind action_corpse_drag x the -down in the first set isn't needed because down is the default assignm...

Re: Tutorial?

If ever this metric leads Sony to believe it is losing money it will act. I guess I don't understand how a tool like MQ could ever cause Sony to lose money. If anything it causes them to make money because if tomorrow MQ went away forever, the day after tomorrow would be the day I cancel my EQ acco...

Re: Tutorial?

I hate to say it, but the barrier to becoming an entry level user of MQ is intentional. It may sound like elitist tripe, but I believe the rationale is this: as long as MQ remains difficult if not impossible for the average EQ player to utilize, MQ as a project and a tool has a life. This being an o...

I suspect it stopped me when autorun was on which is very bad if a mob is pounding you for 1k+. it does indeed kill autorun, stops you dead in your tracks ... so to speak. Get more HP and/or AC ;) Where do you kite mobs that hit for 1k+? I mostly kite in PoFire at castle 2 and I seem to remember th...

this is pretty much my dismount custombind, the only exception being instead of just /dismount i do a /if $char(mounted)==TRUE /dismount because the less unecessary messages going to my main chat window the better. also i chose to make the dismount happen when the key is down and the double-duck to ...

/bind CTD (revisited 03-23-2004)

while working on some code to clear any binds for a particular keycombo i ran into a crash whenever trying to manipulate the eq binds (not the mq2 keybinds, code works fine for these). to get this to happen, try doing a /bind duck z revisited after the 03-23 changes for new offsets and stuff. still ...
