updated eqgame.h files or location

Post by smally » Sun Oct 03, 2004 5:04 am

Is there anyone here who has managed to figure out the new offsets and have updated their eqgame.h file with these new offsets?

Or is there a location on this site that is specificly dedicated to the updated eqmain.h file and related files besides off of the main download page for the complete MQ2 package?

Thanks for any helpfull information.

Maybe he means the Saturday Morning "Screw You Guys With Custom UIs, But We're Not Pushing A New EXE" patch.

By what I have found going through the source code, the eqgame.h file has the memory offsets for where the eqgame.dll from EverQuest has the data for mobs, inventory, spells and other items.

Sony had a patch on 10/2/2004 for the eqgame.dll and now macro's and other items are not working since that patch.

So what I was asking is if anyone had gotten those new memory offsets and updated the eqgame.h file for recompiling MQ2.

Or if there is a specific location on this site that the devs actually post their new findings on the offsets with the updated eqgame.h code.

as I posted on the other thread. Check the eqlive boards...
I must be blind. I haven't seen the offsets posted on eqlive.

What is the subsection that this information is published?
It's been a while, I can't remember. Easiest thing to do is make a post on any section asking about it. Eventually a mod will see it and be like "wtf this is out of place" and will move it to the right section. Then you just log in, search for posts you've made, and it'll be listed in the right section.

clearly if you just follow the simple instructions I posted on the thread that TheUnholy linked to, you will be able to find yourself heading in the right direction.

Well at least some one is getting a laugh out of this. :)

This is my first time using any form of memory hooking programs to access a online games memory information to display maps or give new commands or macro's.

I do know how to use VC++ 6 and program some.

The part that gets me is trying to keep up on the new memory offsets that get updated when a new eqmain.dll file is downloaded from SOE.

Though I have never tried hacking a game before to learn the structer of how it stores its information for use in another program.

I am just new to this type of software and need time to learn.

Just trying to learn what does what where and when without stepping on anyones toes. So poke all the fun you want at me, but please help :)
