Ok Without Flame:gambit69 wrote:I know i'm probably going to get flamed for this (i've noticed the trend on here but.......) I was wondering how much of MQ2 is detectable by SOE? I was wondering if i'm just using the map features are they going to know i'm using them or is everything on my side and they would have no idea if i'm using the program or not. (i haven't seen anywhere that tells exactly how the program works just how to use it)
My main is a cleric and i love the corpse feature on the maps. I've done alot of CR's where the person I was getting the corpse for said he died in such and such zone but not exactly where though.
Also like using it like a tracking device for certain mobs. It's great just to zone into a safe spot and look at the map to see what is all in the zone and then basically leave..
so whether they can detect it or not i'm still going to use but sparingly though.
I don't suspect that a cleric being able to find a corpse would be too suspicious, but it all depends on how easily it is done. There are plenty of items with Locate Corpse on it that will face you in the direction of the corspe, so as long as you make it 'look' like you're using some form of locate corpse, you would be fine.AS A CLERIC ( Without Tracking ) you find corpses for people who don't know where they are

First of all, shitforbrains, why would they _need_ to 'hack' you (yes, we know, we know - SOE has emplyed a team of blackhats just to steal my pr0n (I swear, she said she was 18))? You're already running a process you downloaded from them that uses your network connection. If they were actually dumb enough to snoop anyones running processes, they'd be in court before you could spell 'lawsuit' (actually, being you, I'd say before you could find the letter 'L', but that's just me).dravidiankayne wrote:Anyways, SoE has the technology to actually hack into your computer and see what processes you're running, and unless you are a programmer and changed your MacroQuest.exe to say something like GoofyProgram.exe, then they could potentially track you without you even using any features.
Cause being sued by a couple of hundred thousand people in a few dozen countries, and losing, would be very, very expensive? Now, BEFORE PEOPLE FLAME ME FOR SAYING THAT!!! I said "SoE has the technology." I didn't say that they actually do it. That would be illegal and why would SoE do something illegal? <cough> <cough>. Anyways, enough said.
