Careless Macro Users Running Casinos in Bazaar n POK

I've been noticing a disturbing trend on the Mordern Rasp server. It seems a lot of players are running casino macros afk. For example last night, there was this one guy who was singled out by someone, who I guess got tired of his spam shouts, for the oddity of being able refuse money, or do randoms while afk. I managed to break his bot from giving him items and plat and mass telling him, but by that time, a lot of other characters had examined him. That type of carelessness is not good for the macro community.
My question is where the heck these people are getting the casino macros if they aren't on here?

Writing it? It could come from anywhere Im sure, but seriously how hard would those be to write?

Actually this would be quite hard to write, the devs specifically made changes so that people couldnt just up and write afk KEI macros, or casino's... if some1 has the know how to change source enough to make it work, more power to them, the problem is if they can change source, they should be able to right a complete enough macro people wont notice their afk, so yea, this is a rather irresponsible use of macros.

...What? The dev's have specifically left out the value's of TradeWnd plat gold silver and copper in the manual and have on more than 1 occassion said it was done so to keep people from running afk PoK KEI and casino bots where people just stand around and accept plat, you can find the value's with enough digging, their still in the source, you just cant find it as easy as most of the other stuff. if your going to ask a question, at least ask it so i know what im answering.. ???? is just annoying as fuck.

I understood him clearly. The "????" loosly translates to: "WTF are you talking about dumbass? Get a clue."

It would not be especially tough to write a casino bot. The /notify command is pretty well spelled out, both in TFM and in examples on these boards. TRDW_HisMoney0-3 are listed as elements for TradeWnd in the ScreenID Refrence, posted by a developer. It's pretty easy to write #events for "**A Magic Die is rolled by #1#." etc.

The developers have not made any specific changes to prevent KEI or Casino bots. The tools are there, if anyone is stupid enough to use them for that purpose and ignores the 187 posts explaining how likely they are to get banned.

Just because you cant do it, doesnt mean that it cant be done.

I cant seem to find the post im referring to, but I beleve it was Lax that posted saying never to post asking for an AFK KEI bot to sit in PoK with, that the variables for it were left out of the manual for a reason, and if people asked for those macs they'd be taken out of the source completely, whether that policy has changed or not, I dont know.

Just because you cant do it, doesnt mean that it cant be done.

Can and have, just assumed it was not what the devs want being done with MQ... all I have to say...

Thanx for clarifying. I maybe didn't mean it in such a harsh way, but I really don't wanna waste my time writing a paragraphi. Some things should just be kept inside :)

Earlier this year we had a pair of KEI and virtue bots on my server. Everyone knew they were bots and pissed and moaned about it. Then someone figured out all you had to do was hail them and you got your buff. The bots figured this out, and wouldn't buff you unless you gave them *something*. They would follow you in a very small radius asking for your donation. If you went out of range they stopped, or if someone else hailed them they would go back to their anchor point. 1cp made them stop bugging you.

After a couple of months of this, enough live peeps must have petitioned, and the bots went away.

Sure enough, the same people who were pissing and moaning about those bots started complaining because there was no KEI or virtue to be had RIGHT NOW WHEN I WANT IT.

A lot of everquest users know bots exist, and accept it. A guild I raid with a lot used to ask that peeps who are 2-boxing a bot let them know, because they will only get DKP for the main toon, but having a bot along was not a problem unless they caught you bot-ing a toon without making it known.
