Telnet Server Problem

Prob with the Telnet Server.

I have set up the ini file like so

[Telnet Server]
Enabled=1
Port=8090
Welcome=How about a nice game of EQ.
Password=fred

But when I telnet to the port as soon as I hit the 'f' key to enter the password I get Invalid password ???.
