Mobs that Glow

Post by desnts » Thu Jul 29, 2004 2:21 pm

u know some mobs glow when they have a item. a good example is the wurms in GD when tehy have the bile for the shawl quests. is there a plugin or option in MQ2 to better show this?

maybe a alert or just a option to show the glow. would be nice when doing quests like this to cut down on the farming time.

only trick i knew of was to turn the gamma way low on your comp and only sometimes u could see it. would be nice to just be able to see it at normal gamma or just antying hehe.

thanks in advance

edit: ok so i found a macro that searched for this but its outdated

http://macroquest2.com/phpBB2/viewtopic ... light=bile

anyone wanna update? hehe

There is a working script in vip that checks if a mob in your current zone has a lightsource. The information to make the same macro is in the manual. I wont be posting the code outside of vip. and im not saying you need to donate just letting you know there is one and were it is.

Someone may be willing to help out here still though.

If my post is a No No I will edit it just let me know.

this will tell you everything with a light. i know there has to be a faster way to find the first spawn in the list, but i couldnt find it in the manual so i brute forced it/

Code: Select all

Sub Main
   /declare cs int local 0
   :FindASpawn
      /if (${Spawn[${cs}].ID}) /goto :FindFirstSpawn
      /varcalc cs ${cs}+1
    /goto :FindASpawn
   :FindFirstSpawn
      /if (!${Spawn[${cs}].Prev.ID}) /goto :Loop
      /varset cs ${Spawn[${cs}].Prev.ID}
    /goto :FindFirstSpawn
   :Loop
      /if (!${Spawn[${cs}].Light.Equal[NONE]}) {
         /echo ${cs} ${Spawn[${cs}].Name} ${Spawn[${cs}].Light}
      }
      :Done
      /varset cs ${Spawn[${cs}].Next.ID}
   /if (${cs}) /goto :Loop
/return

/who npc light

or

/who any light

The second one tells you about corpses with lights on them too.

I recommend using a /highlight command in your macro so you don't have to try to figure out spawns manually, you can just pop up the map and check there.

RTFM
/highlight "spawnname" [color # # #] [reset]
Temporarily highlights these spawns

/highlight color # # #

Sets the highlight color to an RGB value

Right clicking on spawns on the map targets them

Note: You can use search filters for spawnname
