Running MacroQuest from release directory

Post by JC » Fri Jun 25, 2004 9:12 am

In the installation instructions, we are instructed to move the executable, .dlls and such to another directory. Is there something wrong with running macroquest from the release directory? Will that screw something up?

P.S. Since I think the last version, the tribute values are not showing up in the item windows. Whats up?

Running from the development directory makes it likely you will lose your settings from patch to patch. To avoid losing your settings, you'd have to copy them from the old dev tree to the new one every patch. Or, you could copy the .dlls from the dev tree to the fixed spot on your drive you keep your mq runtimes along with settings, macros, custom configs, etc.

Every patch I just start a new, copy my old INI settings, and macros. Works for me. (I just backup everything)
