${Target.Casting.ID} ?

Post by signal0 » Wed May 19, 2004 9:54 pm

I know this data is sent to the client, but the variable returns NULL unless I have myself targeted. Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Thanks.

My guess is if its returning null for ${Target} but returns somthing when you use ${Me}. The member might just be out of place, and instead of in the spawn section it should be in the Character section.

Well, that would make sense if I didn't know for a fact that the current spell-being-cast info is sent to the client for all objects in the game. Can a dev maybe shed some light on this?

Thanks.

I don't think you can get any info of what spell some other npc/pc is casting unless you have the leadership ability.

Casting returns GetSpellByID(pSpawn->pActorInfo->CastingSpellID)

In this case, pSpawn is your target. It seems like it should work...

Should? Yes. Does? No. :)

This is the last bit of info that I keep showeq around for; it would be nice to liberate my laptop. :)

Well, I tested it when I put it in originally and couldnt get it to work, so obviously EQ doesnt update that part in particular. We can get it through other methods though ;)
