EQBot macroing program

Post by EQBot_man » Mon May 17, 2004 6:41 pm

Hey I'm new to MacroQuest(standard line). I just took the time and figured out all the syntaxs and made a couple test scripts just to see what MQ2 can do.. course very impressed.

I'm the author of http://web.syr.edu/~anpalazz/eqbot.html Just a simple Macroing program that I developed in AutoIt v3 which I'm sure some of you are familiar with. All the functionality of EQBot can be much more accurately duplicated in MQ2 and I'm working on doing that.

But feel free to check my little program out. Its written entirly in AutoIt v3, and offers some cool things that normal people that don't have MQ2 can't ordinarily do. I've read a bunch of posts from the help section so...I'm expecting to be flamed about how stupid EQBot is and how stupid I am, but whatever. Anyway, Hi, glad to be here and looking forward to using MQ2[/url]

AutoIt is an amazing and powerful scripting tool. I used it to do some really cool stuff with EQ. The scripts were huge and rather slow with all the checking I had to do. I was able to rewrite all of them in about 1/10th the time and they are faster and more acurate not to mention there are some things you will never be able to do with AU3 that you can do with MQ2.

Once you start learning MQ2 you'll never write another script for EQ with anything else.

I still use AU3 for doing stuff at work though.

[Edit: This wasn't meant to be a flame btw...does it sound like one?]

Looks like a free alternative to Xylobot.

Your stuff looks really cool, but not very useful. While your program allows you to interact with other players via chat and tells, how would one interact with the game itself? (/face for example)
