Incorrect client version. Help?

Post by revel » Wed Jun 19, 2002 3:47 pm

Hello, I'm relatively new to the whole macroquest thing. I recently downloaded the 6-19 version of MQ and ran it. When I start eq, macroquest pops up a little box saying incorrect client version: Tue Jun 11 23:28:00 2002

From the best of my knowledge, I have the latest eq and the latest macroquest. Am I doing anything wrong/stupid?

thanks for your help

Please do a: dir eqgame.exe

It should be:
06/12/2002 04:28 AM 2,097,152 eqgame.exe

Also, what is your system's timezone?

In the meantime, you can change MacroQuest.ini to match the displayed date/time.

Thanks for the help. My eqgame.exe for some reason have very strange dates on them. I'm central us timezone. I just changed the .ini and it fixed it.

Also, is there any way to run a pair of macro quests for a pair of everquests, if I had 2 eqw windows open at the same time? I haven't tried it out yet.

Hello there
am new to all this, downloaded the program today, launched it in my system tray... ran EQW and i get the error.

I am running windows 2k with all updates and my eq is updated also.

I tried to edit the INI file as you suggested but the date matched the EQGAME.exe file already
Tried changing the date to the EQW file hoping that may be the issue and still no dice

any advice would be loved. pretend i am a kindergartener and walk me through what i do after download and unzip

Make MacroQuest.ini's setting match the date the popup has listed.

Open the Folder where MQ-20020726 was unzipped.
In that Folder is a .INI file named eqgame.ini
Open that file in notepad.

|

Code: Select all

[MacroQuest]
MacroQuestVersion=MQ-20020726
ClientName=eqgame
ClientVersion=Sat Jul 27 15:58:38 2002
ClientOverride=0
MacroQuestWinClassName=__MacroQuestTray
MacroQuestWinName=MacroQuest
The line that reads: ClientVersion=Sat Jul 27 15:58:38 2002 ...
This is the line you will change.

When you Start MQ then you start EQ and the little window pops up showing Incorrect Client Version.. write the date down on paper.

Now go to the line i described and paste the date you wrote on that line.
Save the file, Close all the open folders, and try again.

Java, sadly fixing it isn't that easy. If the clientversion has changed then most likely all the memory offsets have changed too.

Ok.
/shrug, I received the error message and this worked for me.
Maybe it was a one time shot.? .. or maybe i misunderstood the previous posts here. But it worked, atleast this once.

I did this and now the wrong version message does not come up but after I click play in the server log in screen I get a EQ error window and can not get past it. I can log on as long as I do not have macros on.
