3rd Bot not triggering events

Post by ohno_anotherenchanter » Wed Mar 24, 2004 11:10 am

All,

I've got an interesting problem when 3 botting. I've got genbot running on my 2bot (bard) and 3bot (druid).

The problem is that the druid doesn't seem to process any events until I make his window active and then he'll process all the stored events.

The bard is fine and processes events as soon as they happen.

I also just switched over from using eqw to using plain old windowed eq via the Windows Compatibility Tookit. I'm not sure why that should have an effect on things but it seems to.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I've seen this discussed several times on the board. Please read all postings on ALL forums on these boards before posting.

Just did. Sorry for the extra post.

But don't you think it's interesting that one window in the background worked while another didn't?

Not really ..I personally think it's rather silly to run more than one instance of EQ on the same computer except for quick things such as buffing, rezzing, etc..

If one wants to bot, one should really have multiple computers.

No Amadeus, you can run two instance of EQ (with EQW) very well. Personally I run a full group on three computer, two instance per computers, without any delay  .

I have to say, that is one of the most stupid comments I've read on this board (and that is saying something).

Do you think its silly to run more than one program on your computer? Do you have a computer for email, another for your compiler, another to open text documents, another to view animal porn?

If a computer is beefy enough to smoothly run multiple instances of everquest simultaneously, it is no more stupid to do so than it is for you to have a web browser and email client open simultaneously.

So what you're saying is that Amadeus isn't allowed to have a personal opinion?

Never said that. I said his personal opinion is stupid.

Now, maybe he thinks mine is stupid. That is fine with me.

Maybe he can send me a PM on his PM only computer if he has a problem. Of course he might be working on his "web browser" computer or sending an email on his "email" computer.

I'd say ensure you are using all the latest /keypress routines, etc...

/press, /sendkey... never worked for me when EQ was in bg. They would halt macro execution until brought fg and then spam away when catching up.

NOW!!! /keypress = UBER...

I've run a 4 man team on 3 boxes... not something that I'd do regularly but my bud had a machine fail on him so I just ran his script/account under one of mine.... was spiffy

Now, who's being retarded and can't see things in perspective here?
I happen to share Amadeus' view on this matter. I play one account on each comp, only logging a second char if I need for buffs or things like that.

We're talking about personal preference here. Just because we prefer to keep EQ on seperate machines when boxing doesn't mean we need seperate machines for everything else, but I guess the whole concept is beyond your grasp, or you wouldn't have brought it up in the first place.

LnS, please.

chickenshit ..or whatever your name is,

In as far as stupidity is concerned, you have my posting beat by a long way: calling a dev stupid is definately the stupidest thing you could possibly say.

And, for what it's worth, I have good reason for what I say. It's lame to run more than one instance of EQ simply because it's more efficient to use multiple computers.

Of course, beyond that in lameness is how lame this thread is...
