Latest release problem

Post by Amadeus » Sun Sep 01, 2002 12:07 pm

The latest release doesn't seem to work for me "out of the box".

Are we supposed to download and use the latest offsets (as linked to in this form for 8/14) seperately?

Well, I did get it to load following instructions in that thread.

But, EQ crashed harder than hell about 5 minutes into it. One of those sudden things where the desktop just APPEARED...no lock up, no nothing.

Also, /click commands are still messed, right?

Unfortunately, I had repeatedly the same problem as described above... using BOTH the New UI and the Old UI.

In every instance when running MQ along with EQ, the game would mysteriously Drop me back to the Windows Desktop after about 5 - 10 minutes time. No code lockup... no video freezes... no exit screen.. nothing. Just one second you are in the game, even if you are not doing anything on the keyboard.. and Poof! Back to the Desktop you drop without any warning.
It would still leave a copy of the EQGAME.EXE in memory, though.

Taking MQ out of the equation and the problem was non-existent, it never mysteriously popped back to the Desktop while playing.

I am aware in the FIX IT notes of 0831 release, that these random desktop crashes were fixed, the code rewritten, etc. That is all well and good. But SOMETHING is still amiss. MQ still cannot reliably stay loaded and running here. And it is a shame, as so much of it now works fine once more.

That is exactly my experience right now in the newUI.

I'm just assuming that MQ with the newUI is still broken....

the leaving of EQgame.exe is in all MQ bugs though ;p
