I don't get it. Was the post referring to these boards? Or what?

It was originally...it was edited.

I just hate seeing a link to download MQ posted on such a high traffic EQ site as the FoH board...

Well it was mentioned somewhere else on this site that the recent events have really expanded the number of people that now know about MQ. This place is not hard to find once you know what you are looking for.

Anybody who woule want to find sites like this and do very simple searches on Google. Only those who found this site from the EQ site must lead a nieve life because there is no game on the market that doesn't have something you can't find on the net. Most games include them as easter eggs and dare you to find them. Once you do then you play in GOD mode till it gets boring then you move on.

The MacroQuest community doesn't codone it even tho there are folks that abuse it. Just about every script here is to help folks out one way or the other (Ie. skilling or botting when they have multiple accounts). I know a few ways of making plat very easy all it takes is a little research, but then most folks want everything handed to them, hence FH comunity.

It's sad to see folks get upset over posts on who to get further along in the game. Ask yourself this "If I found $1000 on the ground what would you do? Turn it in? Or keep it?" most folks would keep it and some would turn it in. The question is if you kept it who would it hurt? and do you care?

Now in EQ that really don't apply because it's a game and if you are getting that upset over a game then maybe there are some underlying issues. I've been cussed at for 30 mins in game for something I din't do but was trying to help resolve the issue. Now ask yourself for the person cussing at me, do you think they might cause a bigger issue with in the game, what if they was in your group or guild? Would you like to play with them? I doubt it, I used this as example of how one person can ruin the game for others.

I don't care if they hack the game and/or make plat becuase the are not in my groups and the plat they make will be in my pockets sooner or later becuase they sell it to others, who buys junk, then sell junk, and dooner or later will have money to buy your junk. So how that drives prices up I can't figure it out. I've said it here before blame the folks selling spells for 250kpp and Sony for selling horses (for eample) for 125kpp. A resonable player will find it very difficult to make that kinda of plat if they sold everything to a vendor. Sony has forced you to mark up the price just so you can buy the higher priced item you want.

Go play AO and you will see how they handle alot of that issues. They have lvl specific weapons for example so you cant have a lvl 1 twinked with lvl 65 armour.

I would love to actually hear how many new accounts (new to the game) there has been over the past year. If you remember back 2 years ago you use to know how many folks were on each server but after AO came out each server took a 600+ drop of users on each server. Sony didn't want you to see that hey folks are leaving by the masses so know they just show UP. They have tried to intice nebies may making it very easy for the low levels. I remember being lvl 3 and running for dear life to the gaurds so I didn't die and lose XP, now Sony has PL'd you to lvl 10 straight off the bat by not losing XP and not needing to loot corpses. Then they made it so everyone has lvl 200 in sense heading, wha's this about? Sony themselves are trashing the game. Lvl 15 folks being able to do rezzes (maybe not for xp but saves the run time). Running and exploring new zones is why most folks play the game and those who enjoy the content of a D&D game and being playing 3 or 4 yrs has seen EQ turn for the worse from Sony. Now they play to pass time and use 3rd party programs to help them enjoy the game again.

Alright enough of the BS hehe

It drives up the prices because the more cash is available to a single person, the more cash they are willing to spend on an item in order to get it.

Sony hadn't forced anyone to set prices at any particular level, players have. All Sony did was simplify the selling process. The value of an item is exactly what someone is willing to pay for it. If noone is willing to buy Spell: X for 100k plat, then it's not worth that much. However, if just a single player is willing to drop that plat for the spell, its value is indeed 100k plat, even if only for an instant.

This is the nature of free market economy. Sony has very little influence over EQ's economy (beyond restricting items to class/race/level/droppability, etc), and as long as Sony doesn't alter these restrictions after the fact, they aren't tinkering with the economy. The proof of this is pretty simple... if you log into many different servers and inspect bazaar prices, you'll find a lot of variance. Players on different servers have different price expectations because of whats happening local on their server; what Sony does affects all (most blue, at least... Zeks and FV are different rule sets) servers equally.

I beg to defer with you on that. EQ does have everything to do with pricing bottom line. If you can't afford the 100k item then you won't buy it. You will try to go out and get it yourself if youcan, the problem is they made it impossible for 1 group (6 players maximum # of players in a group) to achieve anything in the game (unless they are lvl 65 wiping out lvl 40 mobs). This causes you to join a guild and then have the guild try and get them items. If your not in the uber guild then you wont get the Time armour but those folks get decked out then sell the items they don't want for outrageous prices. You are correct about supply and demand and it's only as valuable as someone willing to pay.

Now how it's Sony's fault is where in the game can you make that kinda of plat? RM is about the best plat making for those who can do it solo'ing. Now if you buy the item for 100k that's great you have it but you got it because it was an item that was too difficult to get yourself. Now if you was selling bones chips for 1k a piece then your point would be correct but then since they don't go for that price your theory is wotk.

BTW Sony has known about the 3rd party software for years and have monitored them as well. What they see is the community not abusing the system. They have only acted out this time because folks started accussing Sony having rogue developers (which they probably do) and then folks complained about no GM's. Well everyone knows Sony suxs when it comes to customer service and it's a miracle to ever see a GM on at anytime. So Sony has to try an save face to the customers show they cracked down on a few of them.

If you don't like MQ and/or any other 3rd party software don't use them and don't post about them. But I gurantee you if you showed those folks who are complaining the loudest how to use them they would shut up real quick. I like seeing the Guides posting here saying these use and support these types of programs.

Thread on safehouse about MQ2 as well:

http://pub146.ezboard.com/fthesafehouse ... 9136.topic
Hello All,

We are aggressively tracking down the cheaters while trying to disbable the cheats they use. We are aware of most of these issues (although the grouping without an invite is new to me and I will pass it along) and the folks here are trying to sort this out.

Thanks for this new information and sorry I was not here to post at 8am =P

It really is a shame that these sullon zek types cant control themselves, all this attention on MQ is a very bad thing.

Did you miss that memo Mule? It's simple ... launch EQ, start MQ and then dance around your monitor three times backwards while chanting "WARP, WARP, WARP" then jump in your chair.

You will then have access to the ultra top secret commands.

I have really enjoyed reading others trying to explain what MQ can do and it's pretty funny. I'm gonna request a new module to boot my computer, log me into the computer, launch EQ, log me in and start running the macros. Then once the macros have been started I'm going to have in mow the lawn, walk the dog, and make me breakfast all before I wake up. Wait I don't need that I have a wife ;)

I guess I will be blamed for causing the black helicopters to come out and play. They can't take me alive, I'll go kicking like a screaming little girl saying "I want my mommy!"
