ok.. so I've heard that when you charm a target, the duration of the charm is determined at that point, based upon several factors.
See where I'm going with this?? :)
Has anyone tried to include the buff duration labels into the pet window?
How cool would that be to see when you charm something.. that you have exactly X amount of time left on that charm... HUGE!

Not sure if this is possible. Charm can break anytime based on many factors.
At least from what I have seen.

Supposedly the same principle would be in effect for the early versions of Invis prior to the improved invis spells. I haven't tested it, since I always use an improved invis spell, but the buff window in theory should show how much time is left on the "random" length invis when it's cast.
If this works on the charm buff for charmed pets, I could see how incredibly cool that would be for those classes that can charm npc pets.

For invis, at least, it shows the max duration. Doesn't show the duration you've got.
I assume it's the same for charm. Sorry

Yeppers, just confirmed that... when I cast normal invis, i get a duration of 20.06, even if it starts to drop 30 seconds later.

gah.. oh well.. it looked promising for a minute there :)
it would still be helpful to be able to see what the buff durations on pets are.. such as ensnare and tash.. those wear and there's usually trouble on a charm break :)

Did someone ever find a way to get pet buff duration information?
I'm sure more than myself and Teh_ish would like to add this to our UIs.

I don't think it is possible.
The way both invis and charm works is that after casting (assuming you pass the cast resist checks), every "tick" of the eq clock you make another "break" check. if you pass, it stays charmed (or you stay invis). if you fail, it breaks charm (or your invis starts to fade). This information just isn't sent to the client until its needed.

You can't do it. Sorry. Mez is server-side, not client side.
Same way with normal buff timers on your pet. It's not capable of being displayed client-side, just the pictures and names.
I've already gone through this, several times, with no luck.

Ok, I gleaned that mez, invis was server side, but had hoped that timers on normal pet buffs were possible.
Thanks all. I guess this thread will die out now.
