Idiot needs help

I am an idiot when it comes to this stuff. I requested a very simple macro to run, however if I do get the macrom I wouldn't know where to put it or how to make it run. Please help the technically challenged.

Strangely enough, this isn't in the readme. I can't even tell you to RTFM.

Anyway - Unless you changed MacroQuest.ini, macros should go in the Macros subdirectory of wherever you put the Release dir/compiled binaries dir.

You start them by typing "/macro thisismymacro" and end them by "/endmacro" on one of your chat windows in EQ. Macro parameters are done on the commandline if you're using Params. So, "/macro thisismymacro param0 param1" etc..

FWIW.

You are right... it isn't.

I'll add some basic instructions for using the macro's today and add to the readme.

the link in my signature strangely enough has a section called testing or something like that, with a step by step walkthrough of how you start, test, and stop a macro...

Can you use "visual basic (censor: i'm an idiot; please ignore me).NET" instead of "Visual Studio.NET"?

No, since you need the C compiler.
At a minimum, you need Visual C++ .Net (or 6)
