Do I have to buy this or is there a free download somewhere

I used search function but couldnt come up with an answer

There is no "Legal" free download for this. It's a very expensive Microsoft product. Good Luck finding it.

It's $85. Not cheap but not very expensive.

It's often free if you take a CS class.

Yeah, but if you can't afford $85 for VC++, you certainly can't afford a CS class. Have you seen what colleges charge these days?

The intro to 'C' Prgramming course at my local community college costs $24.

When I said very expensive I was talking about Visual Studios 6 and .Net. But if you don't buy it.. it's free.

Enrole in a programming courseat a local CC. MS has a student discount of 99$ (I think). $99 for a full legal copy of VS with all the bells and whistles is a deal. It well worth the $$.
