A project..

Post by h8pal5 » Wed Feb 16, 2005 4:04 pm

Does anyone have information on how far the AI has been taken in Mq?

I was wondering if any projects are under way or completed to developa complete series of macros/plugind aimed at running a raiding guild.

Ie, everything from target selection to forming/buffing/clearing/killing, and looting.

I think it would be pretty cool to put together criteria and class specific.. well, probably plugins...to test and see if an 18 man guild could be run strictly off macros.

A large chunk of the work is already done, putting together the priorities and parameters for the guild to run by would be amazing. It would also be interesting as a population study... do dkp or loot assignment by need guilds progress faster given constant populations?

I know of a person who does 2 full groups of bots, all with MQ. Everything is controlled by 1 character, typically his warrior.

As far as doing EVERYTHING via MQ? I guess it's possible, just would have to do a lot of work I'd guess...

ofcourse it can

yes, this can bve done.

I 6 box, 6 characters, 6 computers. Currently, I have 5 of the toons automated.

I have just finished writing my macro scripts for the main tank/puller and am just waiting for a new MQ2 zip post DoN release to start testing and debugging.

I run a group of 2 warriors, Monk, chanter, cleric and druid.

Only reason I could not automated 12 or 18 characters is lack of computers.

Begin by searching Macro Depot and Snippetts sections for code that will run each class you want.

Personally, I used modified AFCleric for cleric, RDDruid for Druid and Chanter, Genbot for monk and 2nd warrior. I am using a modified WH for the main tank, but it is not automated.

My new macro is one that will autopull mobs from a series of static spawns back to main camp. However it is not ready for public exposure, and is specific enough to what I am doing that it may never be made public.

Oh, one hint, many of the 'auto' macros are very verbose, lots of /g or /channel chatter. I advise shutting all of that off, as it cranks up the chance of GM interferance, IMHO.

Minor tweaking of existing macros can make each one self sufficient, not needing commands form a controller to activate their actions. Event driven, rather than remote controller driven

I use a chopped up vertion of NBH 1.20 for this.. (select spawns is a great "friend") has some minor problems though but its minor..

use afcleric for cleric.. hubbas shambot (i think) and raiddruid...

RH for the 2 rouges :)

.. its not AI at all.. but just 6 bots working by them self.... with extra healing power to "not die" even if there for some reason should come a add .

you would need some sort of 'drama' plugin if you want it to emulate a guild.

With the current macros almost all the casters can be Boted with out much work and most dps classes too. The major issue i see with this is the pulling. And tanking of it.

There are a few mostly complete tanking macros around. The only thing about pulling macros is most I have seen are very spot specific (and almost none shared) or of a hunter variety for certain classes soloing.
