Beep.mac - beeps whenever you get a /tell

OK, I know that this is REALLY simple, but I still use it quite a bit so I thought I'd go ahead and post it. All this macro does is sit in a loop and does a /beep if you get a /tell.

I find it handy for times when I'm busy doing something else on my PC and have EQ running in the background; for instance, if you like to turn on LFG and then go browse the web or watch TV while you're waiting and group invite.

I have also taken just the event code and added to most other macros that I run so that I get an audible beep on any tell so that I don't miss one, especially when boxing multiple accounts.

Anyway, here it is:

Would be nice to have this option added to MQ2 as a whole. Perhaps even make it configurable to either beep or play a WAV/MP3 sound file on given (configurable?) events such as incoming tells..

A plugin exists, that's good enough really.

Now, I don't remember much about the plugin, but if it doesn't it should have an INI where you can set up specific sounds/mp3s to play for tells from specific people, GMs, etc.

IIRC, it was put out around June 04.

I'll take a look for it, thanks.. Guess I'm just trying to keep my plug-in count low for the superstition that too many will bork something.

Well you don't have to keep a plugin loaded all the time. Load it when needed and unloaded when not, easy.

Found that. It works beautifully. Best of all, it's a plugin with an ini.
