event problem with hitsmode

"punch a drovarg rager for 22" ..... works.
"You punch a drovarg rager for 124 points of damage." .... does not.

Maybe I'm too tierd, but any ideas why the second doesnt work?

From the looks of it, you have the same event name: #event hit

So it will take the first match.

That's my guess.

It takes any event that matches on events with the same name. I had 4 events in my druid macro to identify if I'm trying to cast an outdoor spell indoors. I've since split them into 2 separate events due to odd zones that are outdoors yet don't allow mounts, but you can theoretically have 10 events with the same name and different triggers.

Sub Event_Hit is detecting whether we actually hit a mob. The first set is for Hitsmode 'Abbreviated'. The next set is meant to catch the same event in Hitsmode 'Normal'. (The 3rd set is me trying to debug why the 2nd set isnt working).

I'm happy that having multiple "#event hit" is ok.

I'm happy that the first set work, "pierce |${Target.CleanName}| for #*#" etc, but neither of the next two sets work. I'm puzzled why.

Any other ideas pls?


Possible lead:
Going back through my log file of last night's test, even when in Abbreviated mode the log file shows the *full* line.

"You pierce a drachnid webmaster for 55 points of damage." etc.

Only on screen is it abbreviated.

I'm not sure if this is connected, but it looks a bit suspicious.

I don't remember exactly what was but I had some problems with those spaces and killing them worked. You can test with killing just the space before or the space after too see if either works. Honestly been a while since I ran into that and I'm not quite sure of what I tested and whatnot.
