/itemnotify bug/error with merchants.

Post by fallenkal » Thu Jun 02, 2005 6:24 am

Edited: http://www.macroquest2.com/wiki/index.php//itemnotify

There is a problem with the /itemnotify command ever since the new merchant UI was instituted. When a macro attempts to buy an item from a merchant the user would recieve a "could not send notification to merchantxx leftmouseup" where xx= the number of the merchant... No fixes have been suggested or applied at present time, leaving many a macro discarded for now...

Actually was looking to post the same... just never had the time to look through everything i had to do when posting a problem like this.

The problem started after they changed the merchant UI sometime last month i think... So far I've managed to target an item through

Code: Select all

/notify MerchantWnd MW_ItemList listselect 1
But duo to the way the items load up... I guess it's somehow screwed up.. anyone know?

hmm would there be a way to do a search within that list like...
/notify MerchantWnd MW_ItemList listsearch{"Sheet metal"}
then possibly do a select line then a buy line? really sorry about my coding/syntax... i have never done any of this before lol, little new...

My best suggestion would be to log in and try it out... I didn't know there was any listsearch?

Perhaps that should have been RTFSearchPage . . . cause I found it in about 3 seconds.
Reading . . . it's not just for me.

To be fair, it isn't easy. I spent a good deal of time playing around with the TLOs I used in a lot of situations. It's not that the information isn't there, it just takes a bit of learning how to find and use that information effectively.

I'm in the process of editing the readme due to those changes, but if you were VIP you would see how to handle changes due to the merchant window change.

A few VIP members posted macro snippets dealing with this.

I am pretty sure that i have understood the wiki articles that talk about notify and how to get it to work with the merchants/traders.

Code: Select all

/itemnotify MerchantWnd ItemList listselect 10
This does indeed select the 10th item in the list. But i cannot, however, actually buy the item.

/buyitem 1

The command wont work immediately after, because although its selected its not selected from the point of view of the 'Buy' button. I am surely missing a step here. Some sort of second 'select' command but i am not sure how to do it.

Are you referring to the search feature in the forums, if so, about 30 or 40 searches dance around what i am trying to do and nothing that is close. If you are referring to some search feature to get the item so that you can buy it. I looked at the above quote from LAX and i just dont understand what is missing in that line of his if that is what i am supposed to be doing.
