I am an idiot

Post by Nerun » Sun Jan 16, 2005 1:05 am

Ok I read TFM

I was able to get my hands on a MS 2003 VS .NET

I compiled the most recent version of MQ2

And every time I run my version of MQ2 and then load up WinEQ 2.0 I get a Incorrect Client Verson window beforehand. Now reading some previous flames I /cringe that I have done something stupid and am even more heinous for posting a question on it.

But does anyone have any idea of what I am not doing correctly or was there a recent patch I was not aware of?

What is the date on your eqgame.exe?
What is the date in eqgame.h?
Why don't they match?

Your post Subject may State your an Idiot, but i suspect its more of a case of not reading properly. 99% of all problems on these boards are people not reading properly, looking at letters and forming words is not reading it is an indication of semi inteligence. Things to do to ensure you are using the correct versions.
Run EQ1 and make sure all patches are upto date, run a full scan if in doubt.
Delete all zip files of MQ2, delete all directories of MQ2.
Download the latest version of MQ2 to a folder off the root of your C drive.
Unpack MQ2, then check out the "Exe" date at the top of /mq2main/eqgame.h

Code: Select all

#define __ExpectedVersionDate                              "Feb 14 2005"
#define __ExpectedVersionTime                              "12:06:17"
Compile Mq2 then run it then run EQ1 on its own, if that works then run it with EQWindows at least that way you can find what part is wrong.
