Jesus fucking christ. Give the guy a fucking break, will you? Obviously he's never used the dos prompt before. Is using dos a requirement to play everquest? No, it's not. Sure, you need much more developed skill when cheating with it, but he clearly is just starting. While I'm sure you learned all of your basic computer skills while in the womb, this guy wasn't as lucky, and frankly niether was I. It infuriates me when people react this way, especially when it's unwarranted. He's polite with his questions, so at the very least just don't reply, instead of going off on him and making yourself look like a fucking retard.

ok i will start at the top and you jump in where you need too,
download latest zip file when asked for a location lets assume you choose c:\MQ (if you did not then do this time it will make following this much easier)
when the file is downloaded extract it to same directory, open a dos prompt which in your case is
C:\Documents and Settings\mynamehere>cd d:\mq

C:\Documents and Settings\mynamehere>
type

Code: Select all

cd..
TWICE your prompt will read

Code: Select all

c:\
if there is still anything after c:\ then type cd.. again.

type cd c:\mq2 or just cd mq2
your prompt should read

Code: Select all

c:\mq2
at that point you should be able to follow my instructions above from the mkplugin bit.

Feel free to post back here with any probs.

Retard? No. Fucking asshole? Yes. I am sick of fucking newbie computer users. You know why? Most of them are fucking stupid. All the politeness in the world does not stop a stupid person from asking questiones that make me want to talk a soldering iron to my ear drums (or eye balls as the case would be)....

Did I, or did I not answer him? Are you his fucking mother? Fuck off.

Thanks, was able to figure out my mistake from the rude guy's post. I made and used the plugin last night. Only had one little glitch. It kept getting a fatal error saying it could not access a certain .lib. I worked around it by downloading that zip from the spanwalert post and unzipping it into the folder that was made when I did the mkplugin thing. After that, it compiled with no errors and worked great.

And please If you must insult me, say I am computer illiterate. Thanks!

to be honest, you are probably right BUT if you used the guide here to do something then you at least READ something and did it without posting before Searching.

In dos mode.. try changing to your D drive first..

at prompt type 'D:' (then enter)
Then 'cd\mq2' (press enter)

problem is your trying to change to a directory on a different drive.
