There is already a simple macro program that you can use with EQ2. And already people selling guides on playerauctions. heh. Prolly just Xunleashed, or Xylbot, or something.

macroquest was great for eq at first, but inevitably it ruined everuquest for me. i play on tzt and a couple of the guilds alaways used auto follow macros in pvp and warped away whenever they were about to die, not to mention the train/warp strategies.

at any rate, even though i profited from mq with mainly the map/face/afkwiz etc type features, id really rather not see it in eq2 to keep the playing field even

Seeing as there is no pvp at all in eq2, and they don't have any immediate intention of adding it, your complaint doesn't really seem valid.

Hello there,

It would be really nice to automate the EQ2 world.

A couple of friends of mine are trying to drag me into EQ2. Currently I write scripts for that other online game, UO, utilizing a great scripting utility called easyuo.

I think the EQ2 client needs to be hacked just to keep the pressure on game designers to keep the important stuff server-side, and make the statement that we own and control our client machines.

It's becoming increasingly irritating that game designers expect us, nay, demand for us, to trust what they are doing on our machines. TOS that block us from supervising and interacting with their client-side programs are absurd. They shouldn't care if we use their client or manually decipher and craft packets, so long as what we send conforms to their servers' requirements.

Just my outsider perspective. Thx, looking forward to an MQ3 ...

Maybe you used the warp plugin, but I never did. I liked MQ2 because of the much better UIs available that display more information. Also for the fishing macros and swimming macro, along with the various tradeskill automaters (which would be kinda hard to do in EQ2) MQ2 has brought so much to EQ, remember when there was a patch and we all had to wait a week without MQ2 (which probably happened more than once) and how bad you felt? That's how I'm feelingf everuy time I log into EQ2... horrible, like a sense of "lack of power" and emptyness. There is so much more cool stuff we could do with MQ3, can't wait to see it come out. When it does, I will do my best to try to find a way to donate, which is kinda hard since I don't have a credit card... I'll find a way. And remember the beer macro!!!!!!!!!!!!! 99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 botles of beer! Take one down, pass it around, 98 bottles of beer on the wall!...... Frankly, MQ2 didn't give a HUGE advantage over other people (unless you used the warp plugin), simply a faster and less ostioperosis-helping manner.

The latest EQ2 patch "fixed" the bug where you could harvest items from far away. I'd like that put back in with MQ3. That'd be nice.

Right. I'm not looking for exploits, just a tool that allows automation/customization of the client for trainers, loot selectors, crafting, talking, walking, status monitoring, et cetera. Automation functionality that should really be a part of any modern game anyway.

I am enjoying eq2. But with out MQ it all seems a bit empty LOL. I know that kinda sounds stupid but i miss being able to customize the game to how i play. I dont hold my breath that MQ will com eout for EQ2 but I sure do hope so LOL.

If anyone finds any programs that will help make bots let me know. I see alot of stuff for crafting but I always like playing 2 chars at once. I will do the same.

Thanks,
Shocks

Frankly, MQ3 wouldn't be able to do much, because of the new tradeskill system where moreoften than not you caft a "shaped" item even thouggh you con "very easy" on it. It kinda sucks, but also made it more interesting and entertaining. Has anyone ever noticed how since spells don't have quality levels, you succeed at making it almost every time? I'm pretty sure this is gonna be changed. Also, for all you peeps who want to make a bit of silver: Wait, nvm... EQ2 staff monithor this forum... Anyways, MQ3 would be GREAT, for stuff such as auto-casting all the spells required to do a heroic (divine providence+smite for example) or make it possible to go from one area to another afk. The really annoying part of EQ2 is that you NEED to be online to sell anything, that sucks for 56k ers such as me, who get disconnected every 2-3 hours... Someone could possibly open servers that someone could login to their account through and stay online through this server. The only problem is the risk of getting your pass stolen. And yes, Xylobot and Xunleashed have several "scripts" that do various little lame stuff... Hardly worth the price they cost. Now MQ3, THAT would be cool. I would give more than the cost of both those other programs combined to get my hands on the only worthy macroer. After seeing other threads, seems like many people are already at work on this, if I had any experience in this area I would surely help, sadly I don't. So good luck to all you pople working on the next MacroQuest, I can't wait.

PS: i'm not actually from Canada, in case any of you were wondering about my avatar. I simply admire their lack of foreign policy.

I know this has nothing to do with the topic, but for christ's sake. ITS TZ NOT TZT!!!! TZT (Tallon Zek Times) is ther freakin message board. Tallon Zek, where do all the freakin people get that extra fuckin T from!?! And yes, there are many of the "uber" people on TZ that use mq and warp trains on people and shit. Sad fact is a it happened to a buddy of mine and a GM just watched these guys warping and didnt do shit about it. Sad.

And no, EQ@ does not need to be MQ-ized...Well not yet at least. Maybe a few years down the line when everything just gets routine, but just enjoy it for what it is worth now.

Figured i'd share since i saw no one else correcting the complete wrongness :) of some posts

multi-command macros are easy almost kinda like MQ.... they go.....
/rude ; say Fuck off Bish ; rude

Only need one / then semis followed by a space before each other command

and to cast a spell....

you MUST place a / emote first IE

/<EMOTE> ; useability <SPELLNAME> ; gsay <SPELL FLAVOR>

Frankly, MQ3 is like buying a computer: you say you don't need it, but when you finally buy one you become so dependant on it that you wonder how you ever went without it. By saying you don't need it simply shows how uncreative you people are, for it is only with time that we can find the various wonderful plugins/macros that will come out with it. If your main reason of not wanting MQ3 is not needing it, you are gravely mistaken.

First off, I'd like to point out that if you have the level 10+ crafting skills, you should never form less than a pristine item in your selected profession...secondly, I've set up a nice ACTools macro to form countless pristine stuff, why wouldn't MQ3 be able to do it? MQ3 should be able to determine what flaws are sent to us, and what the best response would be!

Personally I'd like to see little dots on my map for mobs, and group members, etc! Let's get that put in for sure.

Boy the biggest thing I want right now is just a walking macro that can walk from place to place, and face Y,X,Z, etc.....then I could get to level 50 tradeskill in no time lol.
