/beep?

Post by Makai » Sun Nov 10, 2002 7:24 am

/beep doesn't seem to do anything on my sysetm. I'm not sure why but when I run macro's with /beep in them, I dont hear a thing.
My sound is working fine, and volume is set right. I'm using a sb audigy, winxp, and the latest MQ exe's avail. Anyone got any tips on what might be wrong?

/beep uses the standard system speaker. i.e. the one connected to your motherboard. If ya cant here it you probably dont have one attatched.

Well that explains it :)
BTW have you ever thought of adding a /execute command? Or a way to make macroquest start playing media player or whatever. Something like hitting the "play" buttons on keyboards that have that feature would be nice for an alert type thing.

EQ already has commands for that, if you can figure out how to use them. try /mcicontrol... not sure exactly how it works, but try something like

Code: Select all

/mcicontrol open cdaudio
/mcicontrol play cdaudio
*shrug* or something similar... I never really got it to work on mine, maybe it couldn't figure out which of my 3 cd-roms to play.

Verant is working to integrate an MP3 player into the client right now. Give them a couple weeks and you'll soon be able to play MP3's on events. Opens up all kinds of possibilities for event driven sounds - I can only imagine the threads listing best movie sound clips for GM in Zone. =)

I have Winamp running in the background at all time and with the SneakyAmp10a plugin I can stop/play/add/forward, well.. everything you normaly can do with winamp while playing

SneakyAmp is working by listening to all the keystroks.
Just have to press the right keys, ex. 'startkey' -command- 'endkey' and it will play your song :)

So if you want it badly (before Verant add the mp3 player), you can just make MQ press the specifik combination of keys to chose and play whatever song you want to hear on any given event..
Or if you just want to change what musik your hearing while playing 8)
Your just jalous because the voices are talking to me.
