Forums died down after C6 nerf... back to using MQ for real

Post by Enkidu » Fri Nov 08, 2002 11:31 am

I just noticed that the forums have died down since the C6 nerf. It seems a lot of people were coming up here to run that macro, and once it got nerfed, they didn't stick around long enough to even say goodbye.

I continue to use MQ for some basic functions. Things like /whotarget and /face to add that little bit to my playing.

When I am trying to level up my character, the red, yellow, white, blue, lightblue thing is annoying and basically useless.

I run the druid.mac to have my druid playing with me. It is a lot easier than jumping back and forth between two computers just to cast root and heal and the like. And the /face command has saved my life numerous times and helped me find my corpse numerous times when it didn't save my life. :)

I just hope that people continue to upgrade MQ and make it continually better. I support the open source mentality and hope that other posts saying that MQ shouldn't be released to the general public, never come true.

Anyway, I hope that the community remains, even though a lot of new people have left because they think they can no longer make money from MQ.

I rarely post, but visit here often. Any talk of pp macros, closes down the forum. The only way to talk about it is directly with email with those you trust. Anyways, I continue to use MQ and support it. I really love the program and learning new ways of writing script for it is fun. I use my customized programs all the time. Send me a PM, if you interested in talking about THINGS further.

See ya,

I personally did not even know about pp macros until I visted this site about a week ago.

I came here because I found this site while searching for away to make my life playing a bard more enjoyable.

So far I have been able to modify and make better a bard kite mac I found on this site.

Using this same macro I have been able to modify it to create a heal/mana macro and a group fighting macro.

The more I search this board the more neat ideas I find that I want to incorporate into these 3 macros.

Some examples that I am working on are adding a weapon/instrument switch change out, adding the assist macro to my group fighing macro.

As soon as I have these working the way I want them, I plan on working on a macro that will auto run me to a loc, player or NPC.

If I need pp I just get it from my RL wife who has a lvl 65 war in the top guild on our server :)

Happy scripting and drop me a pm if you need any assistance. I am not that great at scripting but my strong suit is creating good theroy on how something should work. The hard part if finding a way to implement my ideas ;)

Believe me.. nerfing c6 was a blessing .. at least somewhat.

We got newbs out and people that didnt use mq for the reason it was made... people that were script kiddies, that didnt do any work to find their recipies and make macros but instead copied and pasted...

I for one am glad.

I too am glad. However, I feel somewhat like a leech in the fact that I didn't create the druid.mac program, I just copied it over and modified it to my liking. I am not quite at that level yet where I can just sit down and start programming a macro.

I am new to EQ in general right now, so I don't even know how to "play" all the different things. I haven't really gotten into faction building, or skill building, or anything like that. I basically just am leveling my character. I have played Ultima Online and enjoyed that game immensely. I appreciated being part of a guild where you could always find someone to group with. I see there are guilds in EQ, but being new I don't even know how to join a guild, or if it is even beneficial to join a guild.

One thing I did like about UO was all the programs that you could use and Origin didn't even care. GIVE ME A GOOD MAP PROGRAM AND RADAR function in EQ like they have in UO. Verant should be embracing you people. They should be hiring you as programmers and implementing these functions into the game. you shouldn't have to try to keep one step ahead of EQ.

And what is up with making the game full screen? Gosh, it took me a couple weeks to find EQW after someone had mentioned it. I couldn't imagine playing without that program. So right now I load EQW and MQ before even thinking about playing.
