Lower Guk Faction Auto-Mode :P

Post by dedw8 » Wed Aug 11, 2004 3:12 pm

I was wondering if anyone could help me with what is likely a simple script for you geniuses. I'm looking to do some lower guk faction work but anyone who's done it from max kos knows what a PITA it is.

What I'd like to do is park myself in a room with several froggies and kill them throughout the night. I'll pick a spot where I don't have to go up or down ladders. This also means I'd only need to look for targets in a very short range and recycle them when they pop. Health won't be an issue as I'm an 8k tank unbuffed.

I tried the hunter script which seems great in an open area, but got really confused when I changed the height thresholds. It also seemed to ignore the closest mobs in the array although I can't say that for sure, only tried a few times before I knocked off to bed ;)

Anyway, if anyone has something like this I'd really appreciate it, I've already spent tons of time down there single and duoing and am still KOS with uguk.

Thanks in advance,
D

Sounds like someone wants an AFK macro.
/em sits back and gets out the franks and marshmallows and his handy bbq fork and gets ready for the roasting to begin.
Fuck writing MQ2 macros. Go with IS scripts; IS Rules!

make an ae group and get it done

you need like 1000-2000 kills

lets say your in a room afk factioning.....

lets be generous and say theres 4 spawns there

17 minute respawn?

say you only need 1800 more kills

(1800 / 4) * 17 = 7650 minutes

which means 128 hours... or 5 days and 8 hours straight

i suppose that isnt bad if you do it over the course of a month while you sleep / go to work

as for the actual macroing.. good luck and be careful ;o, specially in dungeons with /target and /face

more than likely nobodies gonna cough up their leet afk macros for you(i only afk forage!)

But heres a hint : use events if you target somethign you cant attack...

Haha...yea busted, a total afk macro. I just can't stand guk anymore and not many are keen on going down for my faction...lol.

Is the be careful thing for GMs or because I can get myself in a mess with a self imposed train I'm not dealing with?

Anyway, points taken...I'll probably try writing this myself mostly for kicks, and see if its something I can use in my offtime.

Thanks for feedback,
D

We don't do AFK macros. AFK macros are bad. Don't ask about them, don't write them... and if you do write them, don't post them. Sorry, but that's how it's done...

If you wanted to write your own, I'd recommend looking at some of the hunter programs and seeing if you can modify that. But we don't write afk macros, so you wouldn't do that. Get my drift?

all you really have to do is edit the hunter macro a bit to have it target things only say 50 or 100 locs away and like 10 z-axis away. then maybe add a little sub to make it run back to a starting point after each kill so it doesn't wander too far away. good luck
