Crashing on the 23rd

Post by colt45 » Wed Jun 23, 2004 10:26 am

I woke up this morning(the 23rd) and aptched the eqmain.dll and then i go to play with macroquest loaded and i get a "visual basic (censor: i'm an idiot; please ignore me) C++ has detected a buffer ovverrun error with everquest and has to be shut down"
so what's going on here? any suggestions?

I would say if you've only crashed once, it's not something to worry about. If it continues, you should probably unload any non-standard plugins you have, and see if that cures you. If it does not, if you're running a macro, stop, and see if you are then cured.

I played 6 hours last night with only a single crash (versus the 3 or 4 I normally have on raids), so I would not think the new DLL pushed yesterday is directly related.

Oh -- no such thing as visual basic (censor: i'm an idiot; please ignore me) C++ ;)

Heh, for the (what? 2 1/2) months I've been using MQ, I don't recall ever crashing, except when I was camping out (that bugs fixed now).

usually it's something in EQ that crashes me (which used to happen before I used MQ), like sometimes crashing on zoning.

There's been several reports of people crashing on EQ today (23rd). I don't think it's MQ related.
