Maximizing Cheese PPH

Post by Draekz » Wed Oct 02, 2002 12:16 pm

EDIT2: Actually Im not sure theres room for all the cheese even with all 10 pack slots. I suggest reducing the number to 14/7 with milk/rennet respectively. Should still produce around 215-250pp/h +

EDIT: Forgot to mention i went through the macro script with notepad and did a REPLACE command on all the /delay 1 's it seems to have made it a lot faster as well. so make sure you delete those, unelss you have a bad connection of course

I found after experimenting for a few days (many hours a day)

That I could reach around 200-260pp/h+ by following the following instructions.

1)Set desktop BPP to 16 (under display properties, most people have it at 32bpp and it actually dramatically increases latency in the macro. So turn that to 16bpp to start off.

2)Make sure of course that you are in 8x6 resolution in the game..put all your mixing bowl in the very last slot (i found that once all slots BEFORE the mixing bowl were filled, the macro presumes you have no inventory space and starts the sellbuy loop, i honestly dont know how to fix that).

So if your mixing bowl is in the last slot, this should fix the problem.

3)Make sure all clipping is OFF (or the lowest setting in other words) turn off ALL spell particles and models and of course make sure you use the OLDUI alse it wont work (click doesnt work in new UI).

4)Go into the cheese.mac file and scroll to the /call buyitems and add 12 more /call's (it currently only has 4).

Then scroll a little further to the RENNET /call buyitems and add another 6 /call's under that.

This will make it so you buy 16 stacks of milk and 8 stacks of rennet.

NOTE: you wont start out making plat for the first couple rounds (it'll seem like you are losing money because components are costing a bit more then usual).

NOTE: stacks of milk cost about 1GP and change (with 122 cha and faction song for bards). STACKS of RENNET cost about 2.2plat a stack...therefore calculate how much money you'll require ahead of time..again thats with 122 cha and faction song (increasing my bards faction to amiable).

This so far has increased my PP/h OUTPUT from 140-160 to 200-264+ and possibly higher depending on server lag and whatnot.

Hopefully this works for you as well..

Also note im using 1.4ghz computer, 398 megs of ram and (only) 32meg graphics card.

Well to me it is because i can sit here and do my drawings instead of pretending to care about eQ :P

THis way i get money *while attended..just not paying attention* and get some work done hehe.

It seems to work tho...at the end of a day i'll have summed up about 2k or more and it wasnt a waste of a day for either EQ (cuz i couldnt play anyway) or my artwork.

But to answer your question straight...yes its worth it... hehe

Besides i cant really solo well with my rogue ;) and the runs far too long to be worth running to rathe mtns everytime lol

You guys crack me up..

First off, Slots always start with 0 whether it be inventory, bags, merchants etc.

You need to look at your events/definitions etc:

Code: Select all

#include routines.mac
#chat group
and figure out what's wrong with this portion of your script in relation to the buying cycle. When ppl edit scripts you can't just take portions out and say "I can't find any reason for this so I'll just scrap it.." The script you have has been hacked and slashed enuff that I would personally take Plaz and Liz off the credits of that thing. It's pretty hosed IMO and I don't think they'd want to associate their coding skills with that thing you call Cheese.

all merchants inv goes something like this:

0 1
2 3
4 5
6 7

and when you hit /click left merchant down the order starts all over with the 0 slot being the top left hand corner.
hope that clarifies it.
