Added LocalOnly...
ANSI color will take a bit more... I'd want to have it semi-match your EQ color scheme...

Um. I was kidding about color.
SSH instead of telnet? more secure, especially once we have to start dealing with file access.
ability to read echo the current MQlog file to console so we can read it?

/consolelog or somesuch that can be used in macros, especially useful in event_chat (ie if that's all you wanted to be in the console). Please make localhost restriction optional :)

Localhost restriction is optional.. (LocalHost=1 turns it on, 0 is off)

Basically an editor to be able to edit macros through the telnet session.

I haven't added local file support, and you want someone to ahve remote access to your harddrive?

Yes.
Provided that the telent server is secure, and the you use a GOOD password they will not have access, hoewever, I'd likely firewall it anyway, keeping SoE and others out.
p.s. You asked what we'd like, I understand it would take some work to do, just a suggestion.

Salutations,
I can just see it now, we set the default port in the MQ ini to '6124' and put localhostonly to 0 by default, Verant makes a patch where everytime you zone the server tries to connect to that port... lol... then the ip is logged and a GM starts up John the Ripper and vwalla... deletion of whole hard drive... heh... *sigh*...

How about restriction of IPs or better yet only allow 111.111.111.* So this way we can better secure the client and only allow certain IP's to remotely connect?

Allowing only certain IP's is a good idea but what if you dont know exactly where you are connecting from as in the IP, maybe you could get ip ranges. As for EQ running a connect to 'x' port each time you zone that really coudlnt do too much against you since you maybe have eggdrops, windows telnet servers, ect... I think SSH is a really good idea but isnt ssh a primarly *nix envroment useage. I do think an remote file access would be good idea to remotely start/stop/edit stuff. I come from eggdrop bot coding on irc and those are pretty secrue if your smnart about it, a good feature is invisible login so you dont get promted for a login then password, ect... just some ideas
Edit: possibly add the telnet server in so you can remotely talk to others in eq? not sure if that would be possible like echo off all tells, groups, channels you might be in to your client and allow you the ability to reply.

Davef139, that's a great idea with a lot of potential, actually.
Set up your account in the Bazaar for selling, and use MQ as a gateway to Yahoo Messenger or AIM or IRC.
For those of us who work but don't want to miss what they're selling or what's happening in /gu, they can have their machine act as a gateway and forward messages from EQ to us wherever we are.
Hell, set up permanent IRC channels for a guild somewhere... then everyone from that guild can just log into that IRC channel to talk to people while they're not online.
