Laptop slowdowns

I am having some major slow downs on my laptop when I use MQ. EQ plays fine until I start MQ I do not even have to run a macro just having MQ running will cause intermittent slow downs. My toon just starts moving in slow motion then goes back to normal. I have the same problem on another system and the only thing I know that's the same is they use the ATI video chip set.

the MQ2FPS plugin can create havoc on laptops unless you put your powerscheme in "always on" . Otherwise MQ2FPS sees the EQ session as being in the background and drops render rates.

or the simple solution i use for mine is "/plugin mq2fps unload" on my laptop. I never minimize EQ on that machine anyway.
