Hi!

At first sorry for my bad english... it's not my native language.

Since the knowledge (and abuse) of MQ spreads i wan't to request to no longer give out the Offsets freely to anybody.

There are a lot of People out there who use MQ, use Scripts written by others, giving out serious informations and doing everything to get MQ shut down only to make themself feel like they are something special and even without giving some Money to Plazmic for all the hard work and that makes me feel real bad.

Please stop giving out the Offsets to everybody, share them only with your friends and paying customers of MQ. Keep the community small and then we hopefully can further use MQ, let the community grow and grow and soon we will see MQ dieing like WinSEQ.

That to my mind is a very selfish attitude. If you find out something thats an exploit and makes you lots of plat then fine keep it to your self. I for one, and many other on this bored dont care. I use macroquest to do exactly what it meant for, making boring repetative tasks easier. not for afk camping, or farming. Yeah i did cheese for a while but ultimately its boring to sit and watch and going afk is just to risky in my opinion.

So what exactly is your problem, The need to keep your only method of PP farming from getting nerfed? Or the way people abuse MQ ?

If the former than shut up whining and go back to posting on the hackersquest forum with the other whiners. If its the latter then I understand your concearn but i dont think going underground is a nice thing to do and if it happened i for one would petition every macroer I saw exploiting.

I don't use MQ for plat making only... i use MQ for faction, trade skills, fights, tracking, corpse rescue, skill training... tons of things.
And i talk about the risk of MQ getting nerfed at all which means even ppl. like you who can't talk without the use of foul language can't use MQ anymore when it got nerfed.

What are you afraid off? That you won't get new offsets? Why? Or are you one of these ppl. who use MQ even without donate anything to plaz or the community exept of flame postings?

You caught my post before I edited it. After reading it on the board I came across a bit harsh but ah well ya saw my unfettered rant anyway.

In response. I didnt use any foul language (I guess you just misunderstood something). I Answer posts I can answer and submit code if it might be useful to others (Look out for my Component Farming Script soon) is that enough ??

Am i worried that I wouldnt get the offsets? Nope Ill go back to Xylobot if that happens. Have I donated ? No STILL waiting for my CC bill to get my paypal number.

As for flames then if this is one I just lost my flaming virginity.

The thought of making offsets private was considered and rejected.
It isnt hard to learn how to do it.
It would lead to buggy offsets being out there, giving MQ a bad name.
It would totally remove the concept of MQ being open source.

How would you have it arranged.. everyone that has it now? I had MQ two months ago, should you not have been allowed to get it cause I was worried about this coolness spreading too far..

Or should we do it by paying Plazmic for every copy.. then piracy, cracked versions, faulty registry keys and virii would abound. Again, not a solution.

If you like MQ, support Plazmic and toss him some cash. Or dont. This isnt some "We are leet" board ... ShowEQ could be kept a secret, but they dont.. and a shitload of Seq mechanics are used in this program...

As far as Fippy is concerned... hes posted more than you. What makes you so sure that you would get offsets and that he wouldn't? Wouldnt it freak you out to think that you might lose the ability to use MQ because I was afraid of someone else infringing on my (sic) uber abilities...

pp farming, eh, it will blow over. and if it doesnt, big deal.
xp macros, hunt macros, farm macros, MQ is so much more.

Btw Sharing offsets with friends and paying customers is just scary.. there would be like 4 customers and 500 friends. L124rd and I would have to spend every hour trolling this board to remove rouge offsets...

Yeah I think people should donate to MQ and we should be able to see that on the board ... ::POKE l124rd!!!!:: Are they obligated.. no.

WinSEQ needed to die. If I have to make a linux machine to use MQ so be it. Would be funny to see it work though.. then there would be "how to install macroquest" guides on player auctions.

p.s. as for people being stupid about cash macros... sigh yeah its true. No way to stop em, and its annoying as all hell, but ces't la vie... its like pks using showeq to find people at low health..

This may be the dumbest question of all but at the moment I am at work and to lzy to use search so I am gonna just ask..
Is there away that I can donate via non electronic means such as mailing a money order. I don not use paypal or any other type of online payments. Although If supplied with an address in a PM as to keep it confidential I would be more than happy to throw about $ 20 your way dont have to leave a name ill just leave that part unfilled out for you. As to you can keep your real name annon.
I am one of the few who never uses MQ to near its full potential I just love the advanced who commands for npc's and corpses.

The only feature that I feel is missing is I wish i could do a /where for zonelines.. :) damn I am lazy.

Hehe... only some? You must play on one of the younger servers... i play on one of the oldest and i see bad scriptings in almost every low to mid lvl zone...

I have only seen a few scripts running on my server. Mainly when I see Plaz doing something new he hasn't told me about

Of course we only do attended macroing now since it is much better to not get banned.

I logged on to play EQ the other day, and was wandering through a couple city zones, just to check things out. In each of the four zones I went in there were, invariably, at least 3 level 5- characters sitting around certain vendors AFK. It wouldn't be so bad if they would at least come up with names that aren't blatantly stupid ("Imfurcash").

*sighs, and longs for the days when cheese.mac was new*

Plaz could very easily make unattentive macroing not work with MQ I would imagine.

Again, I would support disabling /click for use with MERCHANTS. That would nerf the plat making, yet still allow us tradeskill folks to use MQ with tradeskills.

I can't think of any legitimate reason to allow MQ to interact with vendors....

Well you could circumvent that, but youd have to modify the code and there are a lot people who couldnt do that.
