Not authorized??

Post by do_know_a_little » Thu Jan 15, 2004 2:56 am

I just compiled everything using the step by step posted above but when i click the mq2.exe i get a window telling me this copy is not authorized to run on my system please use MQauth system to correct this. HELP! I tried to run it anyhow (the program still opens and goes into tray) but MQ doesn't run at all when i booted up EQ. Thanks for your help fellas. Great guide for compiling by the way I felt very proud of myself.
I love you guys.

Did you run MQ2auth like the error message tells you to?

No, run "it", then make sure the 0.h is in the main folder then re compile. Then run "it".

Thinking he got a binary from someone, and that other person knew jack squat about compiling for other systems. Because the compiler pukes if you don't use the auth program.

just 0.h
Right, changes.txt says that it will compile to a single 0.h file now.

Your doing it correctly now it sounds. Maybe start over, delete your 0.h file, run the mq2auth ON THE MACHINE YOU WANT TO RUN MQ2.EXE then copy it to the main folder and compile with the sln or dsw.

hey stupid ass, a .h file is to be compiled into the program. If you followed the steps in the order given, you would not have this problem.

Thanks lax it took me a while to realize what actually the MQauth application did. I figured out by myself that it wriths your computer's info into the file then you compile that in. I appreciate you bearing with me. I most never deal with technical things like this and the manual goes over my head a lot. You guys help all the time.
I love you guys.

Lax, you're an asshole. Not everyone is blessed with your superior intellect; be nice to the less fortunate. A "RTFM" is one thing, but flat out being rude to somebody (even if it's because they can't read and don't utilize common sense) is just ridiculous. If you weren't providing me with the only means to enjoy Everquest, I wouldn't like you. But you are, and I do.

Cheers,

No no he's not an asshole. I mean someone with no technical experience whatever who doesn't understand the ultracompicated instructions and who even DID try to search the site but was overwhelmed and thought he might seek help should really be told straight. I mean I guess I just was too impatient to figure it out myself. Besides since when have Help forums beens for answering the questions of new people. They should also immediately be labeld negatively for one such offense too. I mean its wasn't even a habitual thing. He's alert to apply such label so quickly. I appreciate it and feel unique in that way.

I suppose I should have taken a few year courses or majored in computer technology so I would have known what happened. I mean Perhaps it wasn't enough that even though I had never seen anything like the compilation and the proccess that dealt with, I actually figured it out within hours. Thinking that perhaps I could get bit of help on the side while I tackled the problem at home was totally wrong of me. I should have read through the 1000 pages of technical jibberish.

Just refer to the Sig. Live long.
I love you guys.

Lax may be an asshole but I do not know him well enough to determine that for my self. But I do agree with him in that there are way to many morons using or trying to use MQ. This program is not and will never be made for the common EQ player. This is an advanced 3rd party software which should require a bit of effort on the users behalf as its not for any moron who can click a button or two.

Then I suggest tear down the help forums if you don't want people asking question. Put up a big reference section that no one can interact with. Quit complaining if you offer it we'll use it. OR just don't answer delete the post or ignore it. Damn you people live off this stuff trying to make people feel like they are stupid. Not everyone knows about this shit that doesn't mean they are stupid. Seriously at least point someone in the right direction act like an reference point toward where the info is written down. Some people don't have the time to earch through so much material. For god's sake some don't understand it. You know how to disessemble an engine then reassemble it? You know how to build a jet engire. No? Well then you're not a moron you aren't stupid are you? People get kicks by puuting others down on a forum like that. I don't know just being asses. No one points out all your shortcomings. For god's sake people. People are unpleasant these days.
I love you guys.
