There are going to be new offsets today. 12/23/2003 is Patch Day.

That means it's probably going to be down awhile longer. Maybe days, depending on the Devs Xmas plans.

The servers are back (or atleast for now) so let the offset tracking begin. There is a tutorial on how to track them down, so if you want to help that would be a great start. The more folks you help the quicker everything is up and running.

Just in case they don't look for how to find offsets:

GL guys. I have to go teach a class (not that I have ever found more than one offset anyway)

A) We're all psychic, so if you ask us to predict the future, we can give you a specific answer (for example, if you ask me when MQ2 will be fixed, I can tell you to the exact second)
B) Pretend you were a dev and knew something that would compromise the accounts of every MQ1 and MQ2 user, without requiring any changes to the client since 1999, without breaking any privacy (or other) laws, and that this could be automated by EQ servers to instantly ban every MQ1/MQ2 user with perfect accuracy.
C) Use your imagination. Devs have worked their ass off every patch to get the software working for thousands of others, asking for nothing at all in return (there is a donation button but I can't tell you where those donations go because I dont know ;) ). Are they watching the community to see who has the balls to get off their lazy ass and do something useful for everyone? Are they watching to see who bitches and moans and does nothing useful? Which side is it that you want to be on, considering it might have bearing on the future? Who's to say that in light of recent events (see: team-maia.net, eqlive "cheaters" post, etc) the community wont become a little more restricted as far as newcomers go?

Lax, yer scaring me...

but, i would like to say that I do very much so appreciate MQ2 and what the devs do for the macroin community.

The way i like to "repay" devs and the mq community by doing the best that i can (maybe the only way i can); Writing macros for use, and giving input and helping others out...

I'm sure that others feel the same way.

An Apology

Post by hardarac » Wed Dec 24, 2003 3:33 am

Lax

I am sorry if I hit a raw nerve.
I wasn't trying to annoy or offend.
I was just trying to work out if I going to have to wait of a long time cos the devs were waiting for SoE to settle down, before trying to re-write the code (which they do so well) to make it MQ2 work again.

I do understand the sensitivity of the work that has to done and I appreciate that the devs work for love and not money.
If I was able to help monetarily or with ideas etc I would.
Until then I wish to offer my heartfelt thanks and good wishes to the devs in general and yourself in particular.

Seasons Greetings to you all ........ Take a well deserved rest :)
