windows and/or xp bashing session

All forums need a place for all the posts for people in the community to rant about things not relating to what the forum is about. This is that forum.

Wow.

Thanks for showing us that... .... ....

But the thing is, :-\, we all knew he was posing. Anyhow, no insult to you.

:-) .. Thanks for bringing it to the masses, however.

ol reliable 98
What drugs is he on? Win98 was Win95 patched and it crashed on release so in under 30 days the had SP1 for it then over the next yearthey patched the hell out of it then WinME came aka Win98 SP2. Now ask yourself has Microsoft conitnued that line of OS since WinME? Nope they trashed that buggy software a long time ago.

WinXP has been a very stable platform, hmm Microsoft may have finally bought the clue on how to program. Long live Microsoft hehe

I never really got where XP came from.

3.1->95->98

NT.3.5->4.0->win2k

XP ~~ win2K || doze98 ??

Two possible solutions come into my aching brain:

First, try to use the search function, read, understand, be happy...

Or, second, shoot yourself and leave the planet. Sigh.

Seagreen, if I remember the technical hype, XP was a merger of Win95/98/Me home user capabilities (read: drivers and DirectX) with the stability of the NT core. Win2k was the evolution of the business/server software (NT).

Now that they've merged the home and business OSes (not server) together, they can focus on recreating the gap between server and workstation OS software. (Unlike previous flavors of NT, there is no .NET Profession Workstation OS)

I always get a kick out of watching a Win2K machine boot ... "Built on NT technologies" If you do a little digging, you'll find that NT is an acronym for "New Technology" ... so it is "Built on New Technology technologies"
