Question about MQ2

Post by Treesinger » Mon Dec 08, 2003 8:05 pm

Hello I am new to MQ, i have a few questions about using this great tool.

First off, i would like to know if it is detectable, and with the new statement from Alan http://eqlive.station.sony.com/communit ... p?id=59786 if anyone has got there account banned or been caught.

Secondly, I will be using this tool for mainly tradeskills and foraging, you know the boring hard on your hands stuff.

Thirdly, I have a 65 bard and often at times it KILLS my hands to twist in groups or solo chant kiting, is there any macros or guide to make your own personal macro that specialize for us bards.

Fourtly, I would like to thank everyone who took part in making this great tool.

1. use at your own risk. yes, they can bust you for using it, and have in the past banned people for using it. how can they bust you? assuming everything on the mq side works right they can't detect the program itself, but rather can detect what you do with it. i.e. if you do 100 combines a minute on a 10 item combine.. this shoudl set off red flags and whistles as not humanly possible and other things of this nature... i.e. don't do stupid shit and you probably will be safe enough.

2. lots of people use it for these purposes

3. yes. there are twisting mac's, check the macro depot.

4. (not that i had much to do, but, your welcome)

now then. check the forums out and read stuff. this is the single biggest problem with people and mq / mq2.. (they don't read the damn message boards and look at all the previous questions and answers..

Can I add ... use the search button
Can easily search "twist" in the Depot Forum, or bard and all.. etc
I think you can use wild cards and boolean searches also...

And no fooking ore questions :P

While we do our best to make it undetectable, there are obvious indicators. For example, if you use a tradeskill macro for hours on end while you sleep... or if you talk to people in game and mention it... using /report command without using the stealth chat window plugin... posting screenshots with macroquest stuff visible..

If you dont want to get caught, you need to be careful about what you use it for, who you discuss it with, who you show it to, and dont discuss it in game at all.

I wouldnt go that crazy about it they dont have echelon as far as I know, but if you talk about it in game much expect bad things to happen ;) You're probably safe ... for now.

If I was Sony I'd be asking Plazmic to submit his resume to the HR dept and get an offer of employment letter ready.
