How advanced can it get?

Post by jon5137 » Mon Nov 17, 2003 2:13 pm

Hey I am new to all of this and am just starting to get the hang of some very basic scripintg. I was curious to know how advanced of a hunting bot someone has been able to create. IE has anyone been able to say make a macro that once started can practically be left alone all day and continue to hunt without getting itself killed? Thanks for info. and sorry if this is a newb. question.

You can do pretty much anything (except edit server-side items). Being AFK while you're playing will still get you banned though. You may get away with it for awhile...

Just so that you are very clear on this Jon, I'll restate it here instead of pointing you at the Sticky topics:

Macroquest is *NOT* to be used for AFK (away from keyboard) macroing. Macroquest is intended to help you play beter, faster, in more simple terms, things that EQ should have had, or takes the lameness out of things thet EQ should never had done (like skillups via repetition).

In answer to your question, can MQ be used to farm a zone safely, yes, it can be. But--> MQ makes you a better EQ player, it also teaches us how to catch others useing it AFK which some of us take pleasure in disrupting.

I am also a newbie here and I have a question concerning the last reply.

You mention that MacroQuest can help be a better player, can you give examples of what it can do for me as a single account owner? I have been looking through all the old posts and really don't see to many things that benefit us non 2box capable people. :D

As a ranger, I see a script that helps me raise forage and archery but that is about it.

you have zonewide track, you can see mobs on your overhead map, you can max tradeskills, you can see through anon and role, you know just how much mana you really have, you can stop hooking up the gamepad to do archery for you... could prolly go on a while

MQ<*

you can always find a new use for it.
