EQ no longer does 'character saved.' when you get in, so look around to make sure no one is in hearing distance and do /em saved. This will cause MQ to start. From there you should be able to use it just fine.
which means this:(as are said in his own words)
Everquest does not save your character to disk as soon as you log in. This is all he stated, not that it doesnt display it at all anymore, just that it doesnt do it as soon as you log in anymore(which, in turn, is what MQ is looking for to make sure you are in the game, I believe).
Anywho, it is a random error, and should not be happening every time you see it, but if it is, try this:
Step 1> Format C:\
Step 2> Re-Install your OS
Step 3> Re-Install your internet service
Step 4> Re-Install EQ
Step 5> Download the MQ release that is available
Step 6> Install MQ(Can be swapped with step 7 if need be)
Step 7> Run Everquest.exe and re-download all of the "new" things Verant has updated since your CDs are going to be many, MANY patches out of date.
Step 8> Try again, and test it 100 times.
Step 9> Come back here with your results, and the steps that may have given you trouble.
