I tried opening MacroQuest.sln like I always have for the last million years, and today 2003/10/27 zip file, it says
"The selected file is not a valid Visual Studio solution file"
[OK]
the VS6.0 opened, and converted to 7.0, but didnt actually make a buildable solution.

I gave my Macroquest.sln to EQMule and he added it to the zip file. It should be fine.

The sln file is fixed.
NOTE TO DEVS: Do not update the sln file if you are using .NET 2003. This breaks all the ppls who have the regular .NET.

Okay, everything should be fixed now.
When adding a file, you must update the following appropriately:
makefile
*.dsp
*.vcproj
The vcproj must stay at version 7.00 so you have to make the changes by hand if you only have .NET 2003.
Soon, I think, we will switch to makefile only.

Makefile only is fine for the zip, but probably ought to leave the .sln file in the dev CVS.
Oh, and didn't have VC at work, so couldn't update those files when I CVS'd in the new file. Sorry.

Ha, ha. I'm taking it out now.
Real hackers don't use IDEs.

You can do away with the IDE when we move MQ off of a development environment that requires an IDE :) Port it all over to gcc and I'll let you remove the .sln file :)

Wouldn't piss me off one bit

I think we'd do better to get away from Microsoft and move to a freeware compiler. Heck, you know I've been poking and prodding at doing that for ages anyway, I just don't make much headway do to other commitments.
lol Would you be surprised to learn I actually know how to use Unix?
