How does /alert work?

Post by Amerzel » Mon Oct 20, 2003 6:07 am

How does /alert work? I've been playing with it a little bit and I haven't figured out what I can do with it yet. Basically I'd like to add all the "named" spawns in BoT to my alert list so I would get a message everytime a "named" spawned. How would I go about doing that? Is this what /alert is for?

Thanks in advance

You don't set a alert like you know it. /alert set a list of mobs that you can watch.

/alert add 1 "Homer Simson"
/alert add 1 "Bart Simson"

Now to check who of them are spawnet you use /who command

/who npc alert 1

and if some one in the alert list are up it will show.

I will test this when I get off work. But does alert list stay when you zone? I guessing yes. Do you have to reset it when you log back on?

If so will this work:

Code: Select all

Sub Main
:Dul

/alert add 1 "An Enraged Soulstealer"
/alert add 1 "An Ore Refinery Overseer"
/alert add 1 "A Fleshchild of Innoruuk"
/alert add 1 "Ol Greyfin"
/alert add 1 "Vurag"
/alert add 1 "Captain Rockbelly"
/alert add 1 "Galikor Sevalin"
/alert add 1 "A Shrouded Fareyes"
/alert add 1 "Head Chef Grishnak"
/alert add 1 "Incantator Cawrolis"

/endmacro

I don't think it does save the list, so I will have to make a macro like you did. What does the ":Dul" command do?

Nothing

:Dul does nothing.

I was thinking if this worked I would add all the LoY zones in one macro. I got it to kind of work last night. I added some other stuff I borrowed from the tracking macro. It's newbie stuff but hey I'm new to this stuff.

You should do an INI file.

[Zone]
Named1=George
Named2=Fred

and so on. Then the same macro can handle multiple zones by grabbing the info from your INI file, and you just update that with new/more mobs as you find them.
