Can a GM see what you type? ie /endmacro or /macro bear.mac

Post by sempi » Fri Jul 12, 2002 8:17 pm

I'd like plazmic to answer, or anyone with GM or guide experience. If this is so, would there be a way for guides to just monitor everything everyone types (or just a specific person) for the command /macro? And is there a way to switch it from /macro and /endmacro to like /t mac or just anything I want?
Thanks

Salutations,
In the next release of MacroQuest there will be a /alias command, allowing you to set /macro bear.mac to /t if you really wanted...

The /alias option is nice for hiding what you type, but does anyone have a real answer for the question?

Can a GM/Guide request from your client whats in your input buffer, for example, see what you have typed? And if so, how far back can they see?

In the same light, can they see your chat output buffer? Can they, for example, see those 'Macro has ended', or the MacroQuest echos?

When you do a /report the last 10 (i think) lines of the output window get sent to Verant. I think its safe to assume that if a GM wanted to he could always see the last 10 lines displayed on your client at the very least.

a) I dont think so but Im not sure.
Any Macroquest injected input wouldnt been seen on their side for SURE cause it never travels to the servers.

b) Alias works now. Its been in for at least 2 weeks.

Ok, I was doing some fish fillets earlier (Will go do bear crap once I can get a ride to a portal :| ) and I decided to do a /who NPC... It worried me to see 6 GM's in zone. Maybe I just misread it but... ex. [61 Warlord GM] or whatever.. Then I zone to WFP and I see another 7 GM's around. Is it safe to macro with them around? Or should I take a break for a while..

They can only log commands sent to the server, but they can also grab all messages currently displayed in your chat box at any point in time.

I would believe that.

The idea of having 7 actual GMs in one normal-world grid zone at the same time? Haha. Even in a Raid or a GM-Sponsored Event you wouldn't have that many floating about. :D

last weekend on a /who all GM showed 6 gm's and 2 guides all in sebilis on innoruuk.. =) it does happen, but rare as hens teeth.

if you see lvl 61GM's in the zone - they are usally NPC's and not GM PC's.
there's a lot of them around.

Are you sure about this? So using /echo is unsafe?
