Question about /who npc

Post by Synndic » Sat Aug 09, 2003 9:54 am

One thing I am curioys about when doing an NPC listing. Some mobs have a # in front of their name, does anyone know what this indicates?

I think it means that there can only be one mob with that name in the zone.

works evertime for me and named mobs, that's what i do when i walk into a zone, is hit / npc # and see what all named are up, but yes sometimes it doesnt' catch all named, there will be some left out and some zones dont even mark there named with the # in front them but most old world zones all have them on there named mobs.

in south karana there is some mobs you cant target but are on the list. and they are named funny like gnoll dung and clear breeze. Has anyone got any other for other zones?

In most cases ...

you will find that those oddly named NPCs are of the type "Invisible Man" and are used as triggers when you get in "aggro" range .... i.e. "You feel a cool breeze blow past" or "These caverns appear to have seen some heavy use".

If you were to target/face them, you may be able to find the spot that triggers the event message.

Similarly, most traps are geared to fire with invisible men NPCs.
