changing Hotkeys on the fly

Post by Jon100 » Sat Mar 05, 2005 1:51 pm

Is there a way in MQ to change the hotkey button text and/or colour on the fly?

/if (someAA_is_ready) /change hotkey1.color Yellow
or
/if (someAA_is_ready) /change hotkey1.text READY!

sort of thing.

Puzzled...

Jon

Well, all that is in an .ini file, so it would be possible to modify it. However, I'm not sure that the changes are dynamic. I don't think that changes you make to the .ini file will automatically take effect in EQ. You'd either have to /loadskin or something like that. If you're just wanting notification, do /popup or something.

I'm pretty sure the ini file is not monitored by EQ for changes.

You'd have find the button object and manipulate it. There doesn't seem to be a way to direct manipulate the text but you could find this routine CButtonWnd::SetAttributesFromSidl and poke around in it.

Both JJ and DKAA are correct, the .ini is loaded upon startup, and anytime you change UI's - that's it.

Now, perhaps you could find where it's stored in memory and adress it there, but /popup would be so much easier.

That's great but he's looking for move.inc, you fucking spastic colon.[/quote]
