telnet problem!! plz help me

Post by Clone39 » Wed Jul 16, 2003 12:31 pm

Ok.. first of all.. i know that there is a Topic about telnet in General Help forum.. but since nobody replied, i am trying in here..

I have dl'ed the lastest CVS, compiled and started it.. no trouble there

I try to connect to MQ with telnet (as specified in docs) with putty.exe (telnet client).

I checked mq.ini for setting like, port, ip adress, connection name, password, and when i connect to MQ it says Connection Refused.

I disable norton firewall, XP firewall also, change the port number in .ini file, change my IP for localhost and still Connection refused.

I change port again, change localhost for 127.0.0.1, and.. same thing

change 127.0.0.1 to client IP again, change port, open an other computer
running XP (local network through hub and firewall disabled) try to connect from another putty.exe and doesnt work.

change port again, open another computer running Linux (firewall disabled again, using 3 types of telnet client with linux) and still it doesnt connect.. always connection refused.

Tried to connect to whatever telnet server i know.. and it works..

so my question is.. how's the weather in your town.. err.. no sorry.. IS telnet working with MQ or we can jump over that part?! do i need to be connected through telnet or is there another way in?!

thanks in advance.. and sorry for the long post.. just wanted to give as much info as possible

Telnet works -- it's you.

What's the output from netstat -a show?
