Issues with glitched menus while using mapfilter

Hey guys. It's been many years since I playing EQ and got back into this community, and I'm having an issue I thought I resolved before, but cannot recall how.

When I have mapfilter on with several filters displaying, normal menus and things in the game start to glitch out. For example, when I right-click my spell bar to memorize a spell, I will see the dialog window appear as if I could select my spell category, but instead it will be blank. Or when I'm in a vendor, half-way down the list of items, the text of the item ceases and only the graphic is displayed.

I seem to recall a setting somewhere of the maximum number of UI labels or elements that can be displayed, and this value could be adjusted.

Anyone know the solution? Thanks.

Try opening less windows so less UI elements are drawn.

If you don't need MQ2BagWindow you can try unloading it. ( older macros and mq2cast may not find your items in their bags )

If you are using a custom UI with all the bag slots visible at once try going back to the default.

I was pretty sure there was a setting I could modify, whether it was in the EQ folder, or a Macroquest setting, I cannot recall. There's a setting somewhere that controls this. That's what I'm looking for.

what is going on is there can only be X amount of text displayed. When you open up the map with a lot of displayed names, the limit is being exceeded, and thus some text is not displayed.

I do not know off hand of any setting to increase this limit. The easiest solution is to lower the amount of displayed text to below the limit, VIA closing unneeded windows, or adjusting the map filters to displayed less names. I mean, do you REALLY need every single mob in the zone with a tag on?

As an aside another solution would be to ditch MQ2Map altogether and use the ShowEQ on a separate monitor/computer.

The max UI elements is a known eq bug which they could have solved by now but haven't spent enough time on fixing? I know JChan is aware of it and has posted about it as well at a point back (can't find the post now) but bottom line is, there is a limit and they haven't been able to figure out a way to up that limit. It's a problem with eq even when not running mq, you can see this if you equip all 40 slot bags and open them all at the same time, some icons just won't show...
