I didn't even know there was an /evho command lol What does it do?
The GMs can read your chat buffer if they choose to, they just don't have time, or the inclination. Basically if no one is complaining about you or you aren't asking for help they ignore you.
You should never do a /report when using MQ, just to be safe. I'm hesitent (sp?) to even /petition, since I don't want them having any excuse to even look at me.
Ah, and make a distinction here between GM and Guide. Guides can't look at buffers, server logs, etc. They have to ask a GM to do it for them. Difference is that when a Guide asks the GMs are more likely to answer.
The usual process is this: a player does a /petition or /report on you, "so and so is doing strange or bad things." A Guide reads the petition, usually requests clarification from the player. They then find the offender, go invis/anon, and simply watch. If they don't see anything they may talk to the offender, get his side, or they may just mark the petition as "I didn't find anything wrong" and move on. If they DO see something they don't like, they check for flags on the offender's account to see if he's done something wrong before. If not they give the offender a warning, and "soulmark" that warning onto the offender's account if the offender can't convince them they didn't know they were breaking the rules. Get enough soulmarks and they call for a GM.
Now, there aren't enough GM's to go around. A Guide can rarely just call one in on a moments notice. What is more likely to happen is that the Guide will fill out his shift report, noting you've been a bad monkey, and then upload that report. He/she will also post your offense to the server Guide board.
Eventually a GM will find time to read the reports/posts and make a decision on what to do about you. If it looks like you have been hacking, macroing, whatever they go through the server logs to see what you've been up to. Those logs are massive, so a simple screw up by the petitioner or Guide in time or location can end up frustrating the GM to the point where he decides to ignore the complaint. However, if the GM finds enough evidence you find your account suspended, get one of those ugly emails, and have to start trying to convince SoE you didn't do anything wrong.
And yes, that means even now you could be waiting for the axe to fall on your characters neck :)
Good rule of thumb. If approached by a Guide be respectful and rational. If you get pissy they tend to deal with you much harsher than if you simply talk to them and explain how innocent you are, or at least that you didn't know any better. And please remember the Guides are volunteers. They don't get paid to put up with crap from childish players, and will file an abuse report on you in a second if you are a jerk to them. Since a lot of GMs feel very protective of Guides they won't hesitate to come after you if you piss the Guides off.
