where can i download a compiler for free ?

Any number of places, but they probably won't compile MQ. MacroQuest is written for Microsoft Visual C++, and can be compiled using VC++ 6.0 or VC++ .NET. The .NET version is preferred.

Both are commercial products, and are not available for download. Nor will anyone post the URL to someplace you can pirate these.
