Ok been forever, just a quick Q on compilers

Post by Draekz » Thu May 01, 2003 10:23 am

Been months since i even looked at macroquest and am impressed with the changes ;) I like the idea of having to compile it yourself! Although I know nothing of compiling im definitely willing to learn.

But the quick question I have is, will Visual Studio 6.0 be enough to compile it? Or should I get Visual Studio .NET? I see a lot referring to Visual C++ & Visual Studio .NET and am not sure if there is much of a diff between .NET and just v6.0

Thanks for the responses ahead of time,

Later

VS6 compiles it just fine, personally, my only problem is getting a clean copy of the source, since I'm having lots of trouble finding a CVS client that won't corrupt the files.

If you have .NET, all one must do is open the included solution file. If you have a choice, use .NET.

Valerian, try WinCVS. When you check out a module you can tell it to download text files UNIX style, and you won't get that extra linefeed crap.

Awesome! thanks Mckorr, I must have missed that option in there, or simply didn't understand it (the help isn't that helpful, unfortunately)

works like a charm!
