Easy. First, get the detours.lib and perl56.lib files in the correct locations. See other threads for how to do that. Then:
1. Double-click on the Macroquest.sln file to open Visual Studio.NET
2. In the Solution Explorer, right-click on the first line: "Solution 'MacroQuest' (3 projects)"
3. From the menu that appears, select Properties
4. A dialog appears. From the box on the left, select Configuration Properties
5. A grid appears with 3 projects listed. Under Configuration, change Debug to Release. Check every box under Build
6. Press OK
7. Press Control-Shift-B

Why not put precompiled detours.h and detours.lib in the source tree, so that folks don't have to find and compile detours at all?

Because the VC6.0 and VC7.0 versions seem to be incompatible.

Please do a search (or at least a browse) of the forums before posting things like this. The steps have been detailed already, for dozens of various instances, several times. Look, please.

Before you get the wrong Idea aboutthat last post and flame I just wanted to say that its was'nt meant as sggressive sarcasm it was a small wimper that I made! Gf pointed out how it sounded "attitudey" and I just want to make sure we dont get off on the wrong foot! waht I meant to say was if you took the time to reply you could have sent me a link withthe thred since I'm having a migrane trying to compile under Visual C++ 6 but thats not a command or a threat or an anittude its a muffled wimper of a fearfull neophyte trying to find a starting point of guidance. but no need to help I will keep cracking at it till I get back my beloved MQ...

I can do the search, or you can do the search. Either way you will find that plenty of us use VC6 and the build instructions are here and have been beat to death 5 times over.
Do the search yourself, plz.

Salutations,
and please, stop double posting like that, the second set of posts, you could have put the first one in as an edited note, dunno abut the first few, but please, please keep everything concisely together to keep these forums "clean"
