hmm.. as happy as I am that there is actually a new MQ, I just wanted you to know that the zip file you linked is not a zip file, but rather one of those free-hosting html files.. My guess is that the link is just broken, or the file somehow got corrupted.. keep up the good work. .

He had a typo in the link. Its:
http://macroquest2.com/source/SRC-20030308.zip
Also, there is no executable. In the changes.txt file you'll note he says he's considering to only release source code. Not a bad idea imo.

Salutations,
/click doesn't work, structs are still broken. If you have any information on structs PLEASE PM or EMAIL ME or POST THEM IN DEV FORUM

I don't know about safe, it was NEVER safe to use... but I can tell you that I've had it running for over 10 hours now with no spontaneous EQ disconnections/crashes.

Call me a complete idiot, but, can one download a VC++ .net compiler? or do you hafta buy it? if you must purchase it, where and how much is it. I can write a macro, but have never been a programmer and therefore do not have and have never had a compiler of any type. I'd be willing to learn how to do it, if I have to. A nudge in the right direction is all I ask. Thanks..

Don't ya think that by releasing the source only that you're opening up people to use it and sell it? Doesn't seem right to me.

Well, if ya didnt notice, the old versions had the code released with it too. Also I think it violates law to sell the code, and why would anyone buy it when they can get it for free?

In regards to the last two posts: Who cares? If someone wants to do some work and charge for it, so be it ...it's not like we're overly concerned about legality here..heh

Actually, the source code was released under the Gnu Public License (see GPL.txt in your MQ directory). That means that anyone can make modifications to the code as long as they freely share it with everyone else.
Under GPL you may charge for SUPPORT, or to defray the costs of burning the whole thing to a CD and then shipping the CD. You can't charge for the source code at all.
That's why you can download almost every version of Linux for free, but you have to pay if you want a production CD or support from the publishing company.

I think he means that people will charge just for compilation. Why exactly aren't you releasing the exe?
