same macro, 2 computers, diffrent results

Post by azwildfire » Sat Feb 01, 2003 2:44 am

i use the same macro on both computers... and part of my macro things are sent to a char in tells... like /tell sometoon "yes i just killed so n so a beast and it gave me so n so exp"

one PC it sends whole tell.... other PC it only does about the first 5 characters of every tell...

only diffrence, is that one is windows xp *the one with short tells* and the other is 2000. i even copied the MQ dir from PC that works to the XP machine *one that doesnt work*

any ideas?

I noticed this when I used to use Xylobot.. What it might be is that for some reason with XP, Xylobot didn't like the " ' " symbols.. In other words the apostraphe or comma's. If I included either of those in there, it would cut off the /tell, /say, ect at that point and just send the first part.

I have the same problem with punctuation on xp, versus 2k. My 2k machines all work fine with punctuation, but xp they don't.
